The CBSE Class 10 Maths Syllabus 2027 for the 2026–27 academic session covers seven units: Number Systems, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, Geometry, Trigonometry, Mensuration, and Statistics and Probability. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has prescribed an 80-mark theory examination and 20 marks for internal assessment, making the total Mathematics score 100 marks.

The syllabus includes 14 chapter areas across the seven units, covering topics such as quadratic equations, arithmetic progressions, similar triangles, trigonometric identities, surface areas and volumes, and probability. Algebra carries the highest unit-wise weightage at 20 marks, followed by Geometry at 15 marks.

CBSE offers two Mathematics options for Class 10: Mathematics Standard (Code 041) and Mathematics Basic (Code 241). Both follow the same course structure, but their question-paper designs differ in the balance of recall, understanding, application, and higher-order thinking questions.

Has the CBSE Class 10 Maths Syllabus Changed in 2026–27?

CBSE has published a Mathematics curriculum for the 2026–27 academic session. The document describes a focus on conceptual understanding, logical reasoning, problem-solving, real-life applications and competency-based learning. The current curriculum lists seven units and specifies their marks distribution, detailed topics, question-paper designs and internal assessment structure.

However, a change in the curriculum's stated emphasis does not, by itself, establish that every chapter or topic is new. Students comparing the 2026–27 syllabus with the previous session should check the prescribed topics and exclusions in both curriculum documents rather than relying on unverified lists of deleted or added chapters. For the 2027 examination, the 2026–27 curriculum is the relevant syllabus document.
