About VSST

The Vijaybhoomi School of Science and Technology, known as VSST, is the technology school of Vijaybhoomi University (VU), India's first Liberal Professional University. VU was established in 2019, is recognised by the University Grants Commission under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, 1956, and is located on a 64-acre residential campus in Karjat, Greater Mumbai. VSST aims to build a future-ready technology ecosystem and to become a recognised hub for AI, robotics and emerging technologies education in India and globally.

VSST develops core skills in computing and technology while emphasising how to learn rather than what to learn. Its programs sit at the intersection of Desirability (design), Feasibility (technology) and Viability (business), which encourages a problem-solving mindset. Students first spend a Foundation Year exploring across schools, so a student can try technology alongside business, design, law or music before declaring a major. Majors and minors can be combined across schools, for example technology with business or music with AI.

The school offers B.Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering with a major in Artificial Intelligence and in Artificial Intelligence, each with a sanctioned intake of 60 seats for AY 2026-27. Global bachelor's pathways in Electronics Engineering (VLSI, ESMT) and Civil Engineering with a specialisation in Construction Services Management are subject to notification. Postgraduate and research options include the M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering with a major in AI, an Integrated B.Tech-MBA with JAGSoM and a PhD.

Learning is hands-on. Students work in the FAB Lab, robotics lab, engineering and auto mechanic labs, computer lab and the Innovation Lab, where drones, AI models and sustainable technology solutions are built and tested. Weekly workshops give every student making experience, and a partnership with Dronacharya Aviation introduces aerial robotics and UAVs. VSST's curriculum is reviewed by Boards of Studies twice a year with industry experts, and 40% of assessment is continuous, through projects, presentations and practical assignments.

VSST students apply their learning to real problems. Faculty and students developed AI solutions for the Konkan Division of the Government of Maharashtra, and VSST signed an MoU with the Tribal Development Department for AI-powered governance and multilingual digital assistants. The VSST Entrepreneurship Cell runs ELEVATE, a national hackathon and startup event that drew over 1,000 registrations in 2025. Students have won or placed in national hackathons and have founded startups, including ProjektAnalytics, incubated at NSRCEL, IIM Bangalore.

Every VU student completes credited practice courses: the Personality Enhancement Program (12 credits), Social Immersion Program (4), Research or Innovation Incubation (4), and the Industry Internship Program with a six-week short internship and a long full-time internship. In AY 2025-26, eight VSST students were eligible for internships and seven held paid internships, with stipends up to INR 30,000 a month. Five students were eligible for placement and all five were placed, with a highest CTC of INR 6 LPA and an average of INR 4.5 LPA. Internship organisations have included Calsoft, DSJ Keep Learning, Pfizer, Sorigin Group and AiGENThix, and several students converted internships into pre-placement offers or progressed to higher studies.

UG fees are INR 4.5 lakh a year for Maharashtra, J&K and North-East domicile students and INR 5.5 lakh for the rest of India, including tuition, hostel and meals. Admission is through VUSAT or accepted national and state test scores, followed by a panel interview. Scholarships for EWS, armed forces wards, merit and performance help keep access open.
